We have an active youth group that has been hard at work raising money to pay half the cost for youth going to the Montreat West Senior High Conference, with parents paying the other half. One of our most active members is a young women who started visiting the church just a couple of years ago with her best friend. She is the daughter of a single parent who simply could not help with her fees. This girl, who had not gone to church before, has in the past year taken the communicants’ class and joined our church, and she now sings in the choir and plays in the bell choir. Our church has become a very important part of her life. We were thrilled to use our share of the Pentecost Offering to enable her to attend Montreat West, and she had a fabulous time.
Two years ago, we used Pentecost Offering money to purchase Spanish language books for our mission work team to take to Juarez, Mexico, where our volunteers read to the children and then gave them the books at the end of the work camp.
