United Presbyterian Church in Lenoir, North Carolina, donated its 40 percent of the Pentecost Offering to the Alexander Youth Network (AYN). The AYN provides professional behavioral health care to children ages 5–8 through different avenues such as day treatment, outpatient therapy, residential treatment, foster care, adoption, and group homes. Volunteers serve in many roles such as mentors, tutors, and lunch buddies. They also provide social interaction and share skills. People donate clothing and personal and school supplies to provide for the children. As part of the Pentecost Offering promotion, United Presbyterian Church invited a speaker from the AYN to present a minute for mission to the congregation. Most of the church members had not been aware of their existence in Lenoir, so we were glad to make that contact.
