Turning Point of Marion, Ohio, is a residence that offers a
safe haven for women and children who are subjected to domestic
violence. It has been a part of our community for several years,
and we support this ministry with our share of the Pentecost
Offering.
In addition to making them a part of some of our offerings,
each Christmas our Board of Deacons receives names (first names
only) and ages of one or two families seeking shelter at Turning
Point. At that time, our congregation purchases gifts, food
gift certificates, and sometimes a gift certificate for needed
winter coats or larger items too expensive for one person to
purchase. Through these contributions, we can help in some small
way to see that these families will enjoy a better Christmas
holiday.
