The confirmation class of our church, First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is using the congregation’s portion of the Pentecost Offering for their mission project, a new school outside Santa Cruz, Bolivia. The school opened this past February, and our church school classes were involved in many aspects of starting this school. The church is working through a local nonprofit agency that helps with the educational needs of children in Bolivia. We found out about this agency when one of our students did his Eagle Scout project with this agency collecting school supplies that are now being used in the Santa Cruz school.

The confirmation class is involved in advertising the Pentecost Offering and will be presenting minutes for mission during the worship service. The class is also making posters and will be directing the children’s church, all with help from Pentecost Offering materials. Money from the offering will be sent to help pay the salary of another teacher for the school and to purchase materials and other necessities for the children and school.
