The Senior High Youth Group from Parkville Presbyterian Church in Parkville, Missouri went on a mission trip to Dixon, New Mexico. They spent a week leading Bible School in a small Hispanic congregation. They used the same program, “Lava Lava Island,” that we used at our church. They led the children in music, drama, art, story time, and snacks. The children came at 9:00 each morning and were pickedup at 2:00 in the afternoon by their parents, who were very friendly and invited the youth to their homes to visit, pick apples, and other activities.The youth group planned and made lunch each day for the children. The mission was a huge success—there were three children on the first day, and the program ended with ten children. The youth also helped the church build a much-needed storage building in the back of the mission facility.
