Loan — special improvement projects

Purpose: To provide low cost incentive loans to congregations that are addressing special concerns that improve building accessibility, safety and conservation.

Eligible projects include:

  • accessibility (ambulatory or auditory)
  • energy conservation
  • asbestos removal/abatement
  • lead paint removal/abatement
  • new technology (new computers, phone and sound systems)
  • Up to $50,000 can be loaned for these projects at a rate of 5% for the life of the loan.

Terms:

  • Up to 75% of total cost of a project; not offered in combination with other discounted General Assembly loans
  • Loan repayments must be guaranteed by presbytery
