Tools for Congregational Support
With more than 2400 registered learners, Opening Doors to Discipleship offers congregations the opportunity for volunteer training and member development at church or at home. Here is what one user had to say:
The site is easy to navigate, the meditation music was a balm to a hectic soul and the information presented was fresh, timely and very easy to understand.
—Linda, D.C.E., New York

The 2009 POINT ministry guide, including completely revised job description, frequently asked questions and other tools is now available. Those unable to attend this year's training can download and print materials to update your POINT notebook.
The Fall 2009 POINT Network News includes information about the POINT annual event, leadership trends from Rodger Nishioka and more. POINT representatives have permission to download the newsletter and make additional copies for use in their presbytery. Each team member and presbytery will receive a color copy of the newsletter in the mail.

Help congregations find the resources they need for mission and ministry. Members of the POINT coordinating team developed bibliographies of books, Web sites and other materials for each of the five ministry goal areas of the General Assembly Mission Council: discipleship, evangelism, justice, stewardship and vocation.

If your congregation is busy evaluating curricula and exploring materials for all ages or you are meeting with the Christian education committee to discuss resources, use one or more of these tip sheets for a brief overview of a variety of materials from Congregational Ministries Publishing, denominational partners, the General Assembly Mission Council and other publishers.
