Their goal is to assist governing bodies as well as local churches in understanding educational activities that contribute to the strengthening of family life and to the healing of sexual brokenness in its many forms. PCA: Presbyterian Church in America (a different denomination from PC(USA)

PCAN: Presbyterian Child Advocacy Network (NMD, PHEWA)

PCBAA: Presbyterian Church Business Administrators

PCCEC or PCC: Presbyteries' Cooperative Committee on the Examination of Candidates - Prepares and administers examinations required for ordination to the Presbyterian ministry. (OGA)

PCC: Presbyterian Collegiate Connection

PCCA: Presbyterian College Chaplains Association (NMD)

PCCCA: Presbyterian Church Camp and Conference Association (CMD)

PCCMP: Presbyterian Council for Chaplains and Military Personnel - A Washington-based entity that recruits, screens and endorses ministers as military and Veterans Administration chaplains, advises the U.S. government on matters related to military personnel and develops ministry programs for military personnel. (OGA)

PCIS: Presbyterian Church in Sudan

PCK: Presbyterian Church of Korea

PCM: Presbyterian Church of Myanmar

PCMS: Presbyterian Center for Mission Studies - The PCMS was born in the hearts of Presbyterian missionaries who believed that Presbyterians are equipped by God's Spirit to respond but many congregations need direction, resources, and encouragement as they move out in mission.  So for over 30 years, the PCMS has been supporting the Worldwide Ministries Division of the PCUSA and cooperating with other affinity groups in the wonderful work of mission in the world. PDA: Presbyterian Disaster Assistance - Funded by the One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering and special appeals, coordinates the church's response to disasters in this country and throughout the world and coordinates the refugee resettlement ministry of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) (WMD)

PDC: Presbyterians for Disability Concerns (also Presbyterian Disabilities Caucus) (NMD, PHEWA)

PDC: Presbyterian Distribution Center (warehouse & distribution center for PDS, Poplar Level Rd - Louisville, KY) (MSS)

PDRF: Presbyterians for Democracy and Religious Freedom - This group is a caucus for reform in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Their goal is to encourage open debate in our denomination in political affairs. They believe that the church, as stated in the barmen declaration, must never, "appropriate the characteristics, the task, and the dignity of the state," nor "Place the word and work of the Lord in the service of any arbitrarily chosen desires, purposes, and plans." PDRF"s objectives are educational - to make available to members of the PC(USA) 'additional and alternative views and Its guiding principle is that "democracy, while falling far short of our vision of the kingdom of God, permits the greatest possibility of and freedom for carrying out the Christian calling to proclaim as well as to live out the gospel.' PDS: Presbyterian Distribution Services (Order Resources - Customer Services , MSS)

PEP: Presbyterian Elders in Prayer - In 1982 a group of elders from Colonial Presbyterian Church and Second Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, MO, got together to pray for the denomination. God inspired them to invite other elders to join them in this prayer for the healing, renewal and growth of our church (James 5:13-15). Presbyterian Elders in Prayer was organized as a non-profit, religious organization with by-laws and a Board of Directors. Primary Purpose: To inspire, encourage and enable more prayer, both personal and group, for the renewal and growth of our church. (affinity group)

PFF: Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship - Primary mission is to challenge, mobilize and empower Presbyterian congregations into global partnerships that establish indigenous churches among unreached people groups. (affinity group)

PFR: Presbyterians for Renewal - A broad-based renewal organization. It is, in part, the heir of two former renewal movements within the Presbyterian Church: Presbyterians United for Biblical Concern (PUBC) and Covenant Fellowship of Presbyterians (CFP). Their mission statement states "As followers of Jesus Christ, seeking to conform our lives and beliefs to the Word of God, our mission is to participate in God's renewing, transforming work in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)." PGI: Communion of Churches in Indonesia

PHCS: Private Healthcare Systems, Inc. (BOP)

PHEWA: Presbyterian Health, Education and Welfare Association - A coalition of social welfare ministry groups of Presbyterians that seek to implement social welfare policies of the General Assembly in such areas as AIDS ministries, mental illness, alcohol and other drug abuse, disabilities, children health ministries, reproductive health care, community and neighborhood ministry, urban ministry and specialized pastoral ministries. PHN: Presbyterian Health Network (NMD)

PHP: Presbyterian Hunger Program - Funded by the One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS), advocates personal behaviors and church and government policies that address the problem of hunger around the world; funds projects in this country and around the world that assist groups of persons in addressing hunger issues in their communities; provides resources that help church and community groups address hunger issues in their communities. PHS: Presbyterian Historical Society - (Department of History) Based in Philadelphia with an additional facility in Montreat, N.C., houses the archives of historical artifacts and papers of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), publishes historical journals and papers and provides historical information to the church and historical researchers. PIF: Personal Information Form (NMD, CLC)

PIIR: Presbyterian Institute of Industrial Relations

PILP: Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program (sometimes seen as ILP) - A corporation created by the 1995 General Assembly that raises money for new church development and other capital needs of church- related institutions by offering investment certificates at competitive rates to church members and then lending the money at below-market rates to borrowers.

PIMM: People in Mutual Mission (WMD)

PIMS: Presbyterian Information Management System (OGA, MSS)

PIN: Personal Identification Number (OGA)

PJC: Permanent Judicial Commission - Acting under the Rules of Discipline in the constitution, conducts hearings on disciplinary and remedial cases brought before it by appeal and conducts trials of cases in which it has original jurisdiction (the "Supreme Court" of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly. (OGA, GAPJC)

PJU: Prophetic Justice Unit (of NCC)

PLC: Presbyterian Lay Committee - Their mission statement says: "The mission of the Presbyterian Lay Committee is to inform and equip God's people by proclaiming Jesus Christ alone as: The Way of Salvation; The Truth of God's Word' The Life of Discipleship." (affinity group)

PLGC: Presbyterians for Lesbian and Gay Concerns - PLGC provides and advocates for the hospitality, diversity and inclusivity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered people especially people who are HIV+ or are living with AIDS, and youth. They offer many experiencial gifts and resources in the continuing dialogue and resolution of gay and lesbian issues within the church.. (affinity group)
