The Present Word current curriculum
Summer 2009
The summer quarter explores the theme of God’s call of a covenant community as reflected in the Old Testament books of the law, specifically Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Learn more about the summer quarter.

The Present Word seeks to facilitate mastery of Bible content, understanding
of the Bible in relation to life experiences and a greater
awareness of Gods self-disclosure, especially Gods
redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ.
Participants are invited
to reflect on how they might live in faith and love. The Present Word nurtures individual growth of the participants as children of God rooted in the Christian community, life in the Spirit and Christian
hope. Discussion and activities encourage participants to live
out their faith in their individual and congregational activities.
Because teachers are important in the learning process, The
Present Word has step-by-step guidance for the teachers.
In the quarterly Leaders Guide, each weeks session
is carefully outlined with a full description of the materials
needed, plus reproducible pages and resources to help the leader.
The quarterly Students Book includes a Scripture reading
for the lesson, study materials with reflection questions throughout
and a prayer after each lesson.
The quarterly Worship Leaflets contain material for a short
worship service that can be used as an opening session during
class or in other settings. They also provide Scripture and
questions for meditation.
