"Bridge of Hope" Fair

Mission/Purpose
Statement: The purpose of this project is to strengthen the
capacity of artisans living in extreme poverty (the majority
of whom are women and indigenous, Afro-Peruvian or people
with mobility impairments) to produce and export quality
handicrafts that express their local culture and increase
their family income. |

Hearts of Students Educational Project
Ceara, Brazil
Mission/Purpose
Statement: The Hearts of Students is an educational program
of the Independent Presbyterian Church of Fortaleza that
works with socially and economically disadvantaged young
people in the rural area of northeastern Brazil. The project's
main goal is to prepare those students for admission into
a federal university so that after graduation, they may return
to that area having overcome social and economic hardship.
This program replaces the traditional role of one professor
teaching everybody with a model of mutual education, in which
students teach themselves. |

Christ Kitchen Commercial Kitchen Project

Mission/Purpose
Statement: Resurrection, a central
tenet of Christianity, is used in the New Testament to mean "a
rising up" or "causing
to stand." The ministry of Christ Kitchen is founded
on the essential principles of Christ's life and seeks
to aid homeless, abused, poor or disenfranchised women in
their rising up out of poverty, ultimately to stand on their
own feet with the security of Christ. Our mission is to reveal
Christ and make known the facts of the Gospel through group
support and fellowship, individual discipleship and job training.
We seek to enable women trapped in poverty to improve, renew,
heal and maintain spiritual, mental, emotional and physical
health. |
