Graphic: Fellowship of the Least Coin symbol   (Preparation: The liturgy is focused on prayer. You may use the symbol of Fellowship of the Least Coin as a centerpiece. Request a few persons ahead of time to share during the time for sharing on "What prayer means in her life? How did she come to know about the FLC Prayer Movement and how does it affect her? How she sets aside the least coin and for whom did she prayer when she offered the least coins?")

Prelude

Call to Worship and Invocation

Liturgist:
The God we worship is a holy and a just God!
Let us come before God's presence in praise and reverence!

Response:
To you alone, O Lord, to you alone, and not to us, must glory be given because of your constant love and faithfulness.
Our souls thirst for you, our flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Thought on Prayer
Prayer is a gift God gives us to allow us to draw near to our Creator and to maintain our relationship with God. Prayer is more than an expression of personal desires or a request for favor. Part of prayer is listening to God and allowing the Spirit to bring our desires in tune with the will of God, who already knows what we truly need.

It is important to listen to God. To stop talking and to rest a while in God's presence. Sometimes when we pray, we do all the talking. Seldom do we consider sitting in silence to pray. We need to "be still and know that I am God!" (Ps. 45:10).

When we do not know how we ought to pray and when we cannot pray for ourselves, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our deepest concerns (Rom. 8:24-30). God hears even the unspoken cry of our hearts. Praying for others allows us to be healed.

  Prayer

Liturgist:
Almighty and merciful God, we come to you with grateful hearts for the gift of life from you and for your saving grace through Jesus Christ.

Response:
  We thank you, our God.

Liturgist:
We come before you with the troubles, anxieties and pains we experience in … (may want to mention in specific places).

Response:
  Lord, have mercy on us.

Liturgist:
We pray for all victims of injustice and violence; and for those who are responsible for injustice and all forms of violence.

Response:
  Lord, have mercy on us.

Liturgist:
Send your Holy Spirit to comfort the bereaved families, to bring recovery to the injured and disabled. Change the minds of the politicians so that they may turn the swords into ploughshares.

Response:
  Lord, hear our prayer.

Liturgist:
Lord Jesus, give us your love. Lead us to affirm and respect that our humanity is a gift from you, as we are all created in your image.

Response:
  Lord, hear our prayer.

Liturgist:
Holy Spirit, giver of life and new beginnings, help us to faithfully respond to God's call to be ministers of reconciliation.

All:
Come, Holy Spirit, renew us all.

Bringing in the Least Coin

Prayer of Dedication (in unison)
God of love, accept these least coins, "tokens of love." Make us mindful of the miracles of these coins given in your name.

God of peace, empower us to be committee to peacemaking. Give us courage to speak the truth in love.

God of hope, bring new hope to us and give us a burning desire to work for peace and justice, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Passing of Peace

Hymn of Commitment (Let there be peace on earth or choose any appropriate hymn.)

Benediction (in unison)
May God, who is the source of peace, give us peace at all times and in every way. Amen.
