Gathering songwriters needed!
Songwriters are invited to submit songs to be considered for the theme song of the 2009 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women. The theme for the 2009 Gathering is “God Will Do Wonders Among You” and is based on Joshua 3:5.*
Rules and Guidelines
- Submissions should consist of original words and music (or original words to a tune in the public domain) that reflect the gathering theme, the chosen scripture and biblical concepts of the wonders of God in our lives and in the world.
- Submissions must be theologically sound, in keeping with the Reformed tradition, and must use inclusive language.
- Submissions must be original and not used at any time prior to the Gathering, July 11–15, 2009.
- All submissions become the property of Presbyterian Women.
- Presbyterian Women will pay no remuneration to the songwriter.
- Presbyterian Women reserves the right not to select any of the entries.
- Submissions are due no later than August 1, 2008. Mail to:
PW Churchwide Gathering Theme Song Contest, c/o 6200 Camphor St., Metairie, LA 70003
No copies of submitted entries will be returned.
*Members of the plenary team will sing all of the songs submitted, with the names of the writers and composers blocked out, so that the songs will be judged on their merits alone. |

Celebrate 20 years of PW mission
Honor your PW group’s mission work! Use an 8½" x 11" or a 13" x 13" scrapbook page, piece of cardstock or poster board to tell the story of a successful mission project your PW has been involved with in the last 20 years, or is involved in now.
Mail your poster to: Patricia Longfellow, PW Program Assistant, 100 Witherspoon St., Louisville, KY 40402-1396. Posters will be displayed at the Gathering and may be picked up after the evening plenary session on July 14; they will not be mailed back to you. |

Add gift cards to your packing list
Bring a $20 gift card from a national retailer (such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, K-mart, etc.) and PW will donate it to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Bellewood Presbyterian Homes for Children. This direct and flexible use of spending power offers a way to provide what is needed quickly in times of emergency and for specific needs of individuals. |
