Get a look at the 2009 Gathering
The Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women gives you the opportunity to
- nurture your faith in community with women from around the world;
- learn about mission opportunities and justice and peace issues;
- develop leadership skills;
- participate in workshops;
- hear from Bible study leaders and plenary speakers;
- meet new friends, including Global Partners from around the world, and women from your area at the synod lunches;
- and much more!
Go to the Great Room to see exhibits about justice and peace issues and mission opportunities. Shop for fair trade gifts in the Global Marketplace. Visit the Horizons space to learn more about your favorite magazine and Bible study. Buy PW and PC(USA) resources. Enjoy crafts and snacks. The Great Room will be a terrific place to wonder and wander!
Workshops in English, Spanish and Korean as well as tours will address mission, leadership, personal spiritual growth and much more. Learn from plenary speakers and Bible study leaders who will explore the theme, “God Will Work Wonders Among You,” and Joshua 3:5.
More than 3,000 women (and children, youth and a few men!) will participate in the Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women, which is being held in partnership with the National Presbyterian Association of Clergywomen.
You can help make the Gathering even better — after you register, encourage your friends to do the same, and share this event with them! Get resources to promote the Gathering.
As well as the many exciting opportunities during the Gathering, you’ll also have the chance to explore Louisville — see the Presbyterian Center, the Speed Art Museum, Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby Museum, the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, the Muhammad Ali Center and much more!
Adult registration for the full event includes 10 meals, all programs, tote bag and program book. Earlybird registration (January 15 — May 15, 2009) is $380. After that, registration will be $430. One-day and weekend registration as well as registration for children (six months through 12 years) and youth (13–18 years) is also available. Some scholarships for adults are available; hotel, travel and other meals are additional.
Registration forms and scholarship applications will be available September 2008 from moderators of PW in the Presbytery or in Horizons; mail or fax your registration, or register online, beginning January 15, 2009. |
