2009 Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women

The Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women gives you the opportunity to

• nurture your faith in community with women from around the world;
• learn about mission opportunities and justice and peace issues;
• develop leadership skills;
• participate in workshops;
• hear from Bible study leaders and plenary speakers;
• meet new friends, including Global Partners from around the world;
• and much more!

Adult registration for the full event includes 10 meals, all programs, tote bag and program book. Earlybird registration (January 15–May 15, 2009) is $380. After that, registration will be $430. One-day and weekend registration as well as registration for children (six months through 12 years) and youth (13–18 years) is also available. Some scholarships for adults are available; hotel, travel and other meals are additional. 

Registration forms and scholarship applications will be available September 2008 from moderators of PW in the Presbytery and in Horizons; beginning January 15, 2009, mail or fax your registration, or register online.

Apply for a Gathering scholarship

Are you eager to attend the Gathering, but not sure if it’s in your budget? Apply for a Gathering scholarship of $380, which will cover all of your registration costs. The official deadline for applications is March 1, 2009, but application by December 1, 2008 is strongly encouraged.

Quilt a Memory for a Global Partner

Are you a quilter? And eager to participate in the Gathering? Start by making a quilt square for a Global Partner!

Just like at the 2003 and 2006 Gatherings, Global Partners at the 2009 Gathering will receive 12’’x12’’ quilt squares as a souvenir. There are some general directions for the quilt square, but you can you use any pattern or technique you like to create this special Gathering keepsake for the Global Partners.

Celebrate 20 years of PW mission

Honor your PW group’s mission work! Use an 8½" x 11" or a 13" x 13" scrapbook page, piece of cardstock or poster board to tell the story of a successful mission project your PW has been involved with in the last 20 years, or is involved in now.

Add gift cards to your packing list
