Congregational Statistics: End of Year 1994

Location of Congregations

Each respondent was also asked to identify the type of area in which the congregation is located. Most PCUSA congregations are described as being in either small towns with populations under 25,000 members (30%) or in rural areas (28%). Another 12% of respondents reported their congregations to be in medium-sized cities (50,000-250,000 people), 12% in suburbs near cities, 10% in large cities (population over 250,000), and 8% in small cities having populations between 25,000 and 49,999 people.
