This interfaith study reports the number of congregations, members, and total adherents by county and state in the year 2000 for each of 149 religious groups.

The data are available for purchase through the Glenmary Research Center. The RCMS data package comes with the book Religious Congregations & Membership in the United States: 2000, a CD-ROM containing all data for 2000 (as well as 1952, 1971, 1980, and 1990), and a wall map showing the distribution of major religious families across the United States.
