  1. An affiliation with the PC(USA) is not required to apply for a grant. However, one of the documents required is a statement from the PC(USA) partner church stating that the applicant is a valid ministry in the region, that its ministry meets the purpose for which the funds are requested. That purpose must also agree with our stated purpose. The statement is required for two reasons. First, the statement tells that our partner is aware of the organization and that it has applied for funds from us. Second, it also tells us that the applicant’s ministry meets the purposes of our ministry. It is not discrimination. Every funding agency has a stated purpose for which its funds are used. We are responsible to our donors to ensure that funds are used to meet the purpose for which they were given.
