Diversity in Our Midst (video)
The historic church of Carondelet Markham on the south side of St. Louis was dwindling in membership, only seventeen members a few years back. Then one day a refugee from Liberia showed up with her two daughters looking for a welcoming place to worship and to sing. Rev. Susan Finley and the congregation opened their arms and the church is now as diverse as the community in which it sits. Not only is Carondelet Markham the home of many diverse families from the community – but is also now led by Commissioner Lay Pastor David Zweh, himself a Liberian refugee.
