After retiring from full-time ministry with the PC(USA), Rev. Richard Terry and his wife, Virginia, took up residence in Monte Vista Grove Homes, a Presbyterian-related retirement community in Pasadena, California. In August 2008, Mrs. Terry was diagnosed with dementia, requiring that she be moved to their community’s skilled-nursing section. Faced with increased costs, Rev. Terry applied for and received support from the Board of Pensions’ Assistance Program. He passed away just one month later...
