For Human Rights and Civic Freedom: Movements for Democratic Change in the Arab World
The Arab Awakening (or Spring) revealed a thirst for dignity and freedom long suppressed by dictators, some supported by the US. Sensitive to Muslim-Christian differences on the relationship of religious and political institutions, this resolution by the 2012 General Assembly presents Reformed Christian principles for encouraging democratic rule and recommendations for shifting US foreign policy toward human rights and cooperative security. Serving broader human aspirations should also help protect Christian and other minority populations. Hard copies can also be ordered for $2 each at http://store.pcusa.org/2405212002
