Jinishian Memorial Program summer camp video

Video length: 2:36

On May 16, 2010, the Jinishian Memorial Program staff in Kamishly, Syria and 30 children from Jinishian’s summer camp program held a performance portraying Christ’s ascension into heaven according to the accounts in the Gospel of Luke and Acts of the Apostles. The performance also included national Armenian dances to celebrate the culture and identity of the Armenian people. The performance was part of an ongoing youth development project in Syria, which starts every year with summer camp. The camp seeks to offer poverty-stricken children a positive, fun and safe environment to learn life skills, gain independence and make lasting friendships. The proceeds of the performance supported the 2010 summer camp and other youth activities.
