2013 Minute for Mission: Human Trafficking

"The horror of the story is that it's outright human slavery. It's a shocking thing to learn about, but we all must hear it. This is happening all of the world, even in the United States," Mary Ann told us. "The problem is immense. But nothing can change until we start talking about it."

It's an international scandal that needs exposing, and if we can do it through churches and program supported through the Peacemaking Offering, then we can begin to act in solidarity with the Filipino people, even from our pews. To download the audio version, right-click here and select "save target (or link) as..."

  1. Thanks for the question, Christina (and we hope you received the email we sent you). Typically, we say that there are three ways to contribute to the Peacemaking Offering (which helps address the human trafficking issues you had read about): 1) Through your church. If your church does not receive the Peacemaking Offering each year, you may consider suggesting it to your session – especially if this is an issue you are passionate about. If you need help with this, we are more than happy to assist! 2) Give as much as you want online. You do this here: https://www.presbyterianmission.org/give/make-a-gift/PM999999/ 3) Give $10 immediately by texting PEACE to 20222. This will be charged to your next phone bill … and standard SMS rates may apply.
