Stories of Hope: Fairfax Presbyterian’s guests have an extended stay thanks to 18 inches of snow
For the past five years, Fairfax Presbyterian has participated with other faith communities in a coordinated program to serve as an overnight hypothermia shelter. Each winter season, FPC volunteers opened the church to as many as 50 homeless guests every night for a week and provided evening meals, hospitality and overnight shelter in the church's Fellowship Hall.
