Affordable Housing Ministries
ECO #E048105
Presbyterian congregations around the country are involved in a wide variety of efforts to provide decent, affordable housing. These include efforts with specific populations such as elderly, mentally challenged, homeless families and others. The projects range from single-family homes to extensive apartment complex rehabs. The Urban Ministry Office provides technical assistance and seed grants for congregations engaged in affordable housing ministries.

Habitat for Humanity
ECO #E404603
Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical non-profit organization dedicated to the provision of decent, affordable housing. Habitat works with churches and other groups of volunteers to provide labor and material to build single-family homes, which are purchased by qualified families through no-interest loan programs. Habitat has affiliates in all fifty states and nearly half of all Presbyterian churches have been involved in a Habitat project. These funds will be used as seed grants and will support Habitat's church relation efforts.

Homeless Ministries
ECO #E865713
Homelessness remains a tragic reality in America despite the long economic boom. Contributions to this program will directly sponsor congregational and presbytery efforts to house and provide support services for homeless persons. To address the deeper problems, these resources will be used as seed moneys for efforts to create transitional and permanent housing.
