Throughout the Bible, God calls people into faithful action. In Unit 1, God calls Moses to lead God’s people to freedom. In response to this freedom, God calls God’s people to live obedient lives. The goal of Unit 1 is to introduce students to Moses’ response to God’s call and to the Ten Commandments, God’s instructions for our lives. Unit 2 focuses on difficult times when God’s people call on God and God gives them hope. The goal of Unit 2 is to present stories that emphasize God’s call to hope. The goal of Unit 3 is to introduce students to two major prophets, Jeremiah and Isaiah. Through stories about these prophets, students will learn that God can call leaders in unusual ways to do amazing things.

Unit 1 of the spring quarter introduces students to stories about men and women who spent time with Jesus. Students will consider what it was like to be face-to-face with Jesus Christ. They will learn how Jesus changed the lives of those people and how he continues to change the lives of people today. Unit 2 introduces students to parables Jesus told. Students will learn why Jesus used stories to teach and what lessons these stories have to teach us.
