Christmas Joy Offering
The Christmas Joy Offering has
been a Presbyterian tradition for more than 70 years. As we celebrate the unity of
God’s family through Jesus Christ,
we remember and celebrate persons in our community of faith in a tangible way.
Whether helping deserving youth obtain an education or meeting the needs of active
and retired servants of the church, we give to the Christmas Joy Offering in
thanksgiving and hope.

Distribution of receipts
Fifty percent of gifts to the Christmas Joy Offering benefit
both active and retired church workers in times of need through such assistance
programs of the Board of Pensions as income supplements, shared grants and emergency
assistance grants.
Fifty percent of gifts to the offering support racial
ethnic schools and colleges related to the PC(USA). Funds are used for basic
operating costs as well as scholarships to deserving students.

When received
Most congregations receive the Christmas Joy Offering the Sunday before Christmas.
Standing orders for offering materials are delivered to congregations in October. |
