Celebrate
God's Good Gifts:
Bible Studies for Stewardship Education (by Rev. Eugenia Gamble)
PDS #70370-94-014; $2.50 each

Bible study is an important and essential
part of growing in Christian discipleship. Stewardship is part
of being a disciple and living faithfully, using responsibly
all the good gifts God has given to us. Celebrate God's Good
Gifts brings together the study of the Bible and the discipline
of stewardship. |
|
 |
|
| |
|
|
| |
In 12 sessions, using texts
from both the Old and New Testaments, the Rev. Eugenia Gamble
helps us explore the nature of God who gives us life and all
we have. She leads us to examine the relationships we have with
God and with one another and to see them in terms of stewardship.
All of who we are and what we have are gifts from God for which
we are called to be good stewards.
Often we think of stewardship only in terms
of our money; at least, it is usually for our financial giving
that we have an intentional commitment campaign. Some of us
may expand our practices of commitment to the giving of time
and talents, yet we can grow even further when we begin to include
every aspect of our living and being. Eugenia Gamble helps us
to do that by raising issues of attitude, self-knowledge, conflict,
compassion, and vision. We are called to be stewards of all
these things.
This Bible study can be used in a variety
of ways: Sunday morning youth and/or adult church school classes,
church leadership or other youth and adult retreats; other small
group study such as the women's circle, men's breakfast study,
or youth group. The material can also be adapted for use as
devotions for session or committee meetings. Although you may
find this Bible study especially helpful during the financial
stewardship season, it can be used at any time to emphasize
the significance of whole-life, year-round stewardship. |
