This interactive CD and Web-based year-round stewardship program:

  • Educates members about the biblical and theological meaning of stewardship
  • Provides interpretation about how the church is being a faithful steward
  • Asks the members of the church to commit themselves to the support of the church's stewardship program
  • Guides you through suggested tasks each two months and provides information about each task
  • Provides material to be used in the stewardship program
  • Assists you in preparing your own materials
  • Links you to interpretative information about the mission of the church

Small Groups
Strengths: Allows for dialogue and discussion, and creates a high level of interest.

Use this when: You have a year-round stewardship and mission interpretation program in place, or if you plan to introduce something new for which you want support or feedback.

   
         
 
 

Direct Mail
Strengths:  Allows for much creativity in writing, and includes all members.

Use this when:  Your financial needs are not critical and can be addressed by a low-key approach.  The program and staff of your church have built confidence, growth, and a sense of achievement into the life of your congregation.

   
         
 
 

Consecration Day
Strengths: Requires little time or training, involves celebration.

Use this when: You want to focus on the spiritual dimension of stewardship Your members are generally familiar and comfortable with the mission and ministry of the church and you expect relatively few questions.

   
         
 
 

Congregational Dinner
Strengths: Strengthens fellowship, and provides face-to-face contact.

Use this when: Your church has a tradition of good attendance at dinners and churchwide events.

   
         
 
 

Every Member Visitation
Strengths: Face to face discussion allows for questions and answers, interaction, and is a good starting point for stewardship education.

Use this when: You have not done an every member visitation in your church within the last three to five years, or if you have a significant increase in giving as your goal (more than 10 percent).

   
         
 
 

Telephone Method
Strengths: Allows for questions, answers, and interaction. Is easier to enlist telephone callers than visiting stewards

Use this when: Your church has a year-round program of mission interpretation and stewardship education. You want personal contacts with less intensity than personal visitation.

   
         
 
 

Sunday Worship
Strengths: Places stewardship commitment in the context of worship, and emphasizes the spiritual dimension of commitment.

Use this when: You have a tradition of good attendance at worship, your pastor is comfortable having the primary responsibility for motivation members' giving  and speaking about money from the pulpit.

   
         
 
 

Personal Delivery
Strengths: Involves a large number of people, is fun, often stimulates a creative, playful spirit.

Use this when: You do not expect many questions or concerns about the ministry of the Church, you have a year-round program for stewardship and mission interpretation.
