Prepare for Spiritual Renewal | Hold a solemn assembly | Follow up

Holding a spiritual renewal service or solemn assembly

What can you do to make a solemn assembly go smoothly? This is not about us controlling, but rather about us making space for God and letting the Spirit move freely. This means taking the time to prepare for the assembly with much prayer and study before proceeding to plan the service itself.

We recommend that you consult the traditional elements of a solemn assembly to analyze how the order of the service is designed to let the Spirit lead us into an encounter with the living Lord Jesus Christ and a deeper walk with Him in all of life. We recommend that you consult the traditional elements of a solemn assembly as you prepare for this service. Analyzing these elements will help you understand the order of worship, allowing the Spirit to lead the assembly into a deeper encounter with the living Lord Jesus Christ. You will need to come up with your own liturgy that speaks to and for your people, but understanding the flow of the service itself is important.

Use these resources and examples to help you design a service that is appropriate for your church.
