Transformation Pastors Gathering
September 29 – October 2, 2008, St. Pete’s Beach, Florida
Are you the pastor of a church in Transformation? Considering accepting a call to a church in Transformation? Discerning whether Transformation is your calling? Discerning whether or not your church needs to go through the Transformation process? If so, then make plans to attend the Transformation Pastors Training Event September 29 – October 2, 2008 at the Tradewinds Resort in St. Pete’s Beach Florida. You will attend seminars, participate in small group sessions, engage in periods of prayer and discernment, as well as connect with other pastors and leaders in Church Transformation.

Speakers
The Rev. Christian Dominic Boyd is an ordained Presbyterian Minister of Word and Sacrament, an experienced pastor, spiritual director, and Benedictine oblate, ministering as a servant leader in Christ’s Church for more than 15 years. He has served in the PC(USA) General Assembly Council’s World Mission division, experienced in congregational transformation and development, and served as the Stated Clerk for Ohio Valley Presbytery before going to Giddings-Lovejoy Presbytery to serve on staff as the designated organizing pastor for New Creation in O’Fallon, Illinois. In addition to this pastoral role, Christian also serves as a missional consultant to various presbytery committees and teams, as well as serving in an elected position on the Leadership in Ministry Team. Christian grew up in southern Missouri and is a graduate of Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He earned a Master of Divinity from Louisville Seminary, and did post-graduate work with the Epiphany Academy in Formative Spirituality. Christian is currently a doctoral student at Luther Seminary (St Paul, Minnesota), specializing in Congregational Mission and Leadership. His thesis is titled A Missional Presbytery: The Capacities Needed to Indentify, Equip, and Support Missional Leaders. He is married to Karen Selbert, DVM, and has four hairy four-legged “children” who excel nationally in dog agility.

Chris Walker is an ordained pastor in the PC(USA) and is the principal writer for Evangelism Coach. He has studied evangelism and church growth ever since working for a Billy Graham crusade more than 20 years ago, and has led countless training seminars throughout North and South America. Chris was involved in youth ministry for 15 years and served as associate pastor at Christ Presbyterian in Richmond, Virginia. In 2001, he helped to launch Eternity Church, an international church focused on gathering the nations to worship Christ. Beginning in 2006, the Walkers were connected with Iglesia Communidad Evangelica, a Spanish language congregation in Richmond.
Rev. Walker received a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield Illinois, and a Master of Theology from Union Theological Seminary, Richmond Virginia. In 2004, he was Millard Scholar of Evangelism at Union PSCE in Richmond.
Currently he serves as Pioneer Faculty for Missions and Evangelism in the Americas with Dunamis Fellowship International, a ministry of Presbyterian Reformed Ministries International.

Ann Philbrick is co-owner/consultant of Heartwood, an organization cultivating congregational transformation. She is a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). Ann has served in all aspects of pastoral ministry: preaching, worship leadership, Christian education, youth ministry, pastoral care, mission and social justice ministries. She has led workshops, seminars and retreats, written curriculum and served as a consultant and resource person to congregations, governing bodies and committees.
Through their experience with Heartwood, they have come to appreciate the need for strong congregations of all sizes and the deep connections between all aspects of a congregation's ministry and mission. |
