The mission of the office of Congregational Transformation
is to assist
congregations in finding new ways to respond to God's calling
in the midst of a changing culture and community.
We do so by:
Encouraging and supporting the development
of regional redevelopment networks.
Providing leadership and planning for
workshops and training events.
Supporting the efforts of the Network
for Churchwide Transformation.
Providing consultations to presbyteries
and synods on redevelopment issues and opportunities.
Providing and identifying resources.
Providing leadership training for clergy
and lay leaders.
Extreme Makeovers for Congregations
To create a pilot project for the purpose of assisting congregations who are in the midst of transformation. The project will provide volunteers who will assist in a "makeover project" of a church facility that will enable the congregation to provide a new ministry or mission. The project will also partner with the congregation and the volunteers to provide an inspirational retreat or conference that is intended to increase the spiritual energy of the congregation. The intent is to hold both events in conjunction with each other
