The children will have the opportunity to:

• See depictions of angels in art.
• Hear the angel's words to Joseph from Matthew 1:18-24.
• Hear the angel's words to Mary from Luke 1:26-38.
• Make a book reminding them of the angels' messages to Mary and Joseph.

The Audiovisual Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 through audiovisual media that is heard, viewed or made. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

• Know where to find in the Bible the stories of the angels announcing Jesus' impending birth to Mary and Joseph.
• Watch a video depicting the birth of Jesus, paying particular attention to the role of the angels, God's messengers.
• Reflect on what the messengers said and how Mary and Joseph might have felt.
• Reflect on how God is with us and speaks to us today and how we respond.

The Computer Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 using computers. Sometimes computers are used to tell the story, and sometimes they are used to respond to it. Objectives of the workshop:

The Drama/Storytelling Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 by retelling the story in ways that help children remember it. Objectives of the workshop:

• Retell and discuss the stories of the angel visitations to Joseph and Mary.
• Enact the angel visitations to Joseph and Mary.
• Talk about the role of angels as messengers from God.
• Talk about the faith and obedience of Joseph and Mary.

The Games and Puzzles Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 by having children play biblically related games or puzzles. Objectives of the workshop:

• Discover who God's messengers were that appeared to Mary and to Joseph.
• Learn about the messages that the angels delivered to Mary and to Joseph.
• Create a fun way to share the message of Advent with others.

The Music and Worship Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 through music and makes the connection to worship in PC(USA) congregations. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

• Learn about the angels' special role as messengers from God.
• Hear songs about angels and sing "The Angel Gabriel from Heaven Came."
• Consider what the message of the angels means to them.

The Bonus: Bible Detective Workshop explores Matthew 1:18-24 and Luke 1:26-38 with activities that help children discover the stories of the angels' message to Mary and Joseph. Objectives of the workshop:
