Purchase the unit, consisting of the seven Workshops below, for $99.95. Bundle three to five units, and the cost drops to $84.95 per unit. The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear the story of the women visiting Jesus’ tomb.
  • Explore the story using clay.
  • Create a sculpture related to the resurrection story.

The Audiovisual Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 through audiovisual media that is heard, viewed or made. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Read the story of Jesus’ resurrection.
  • Watch a movie depicting the first Easter morning and the women’s and disciples’ reactions to the news.
  • Watch a portion of the movie Charlotte’s Web and talk about how Wilbur promised to tell Charlotte’s story.
  • Write a story or draw a picture about telling the good news of Jesus.

The Computer Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 using computers. Sometimes computers are used to tell the story, and sometimes they are used to respond to it. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Play a word game or make a pictograph.
  • Discover the story using computer software:

  • Create a “Front Page” account of the story.

The Drama/Storytelling Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 by retelling the story in ways that help children remember it. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear the story of Jesus’ resurrection.
  • Test their powers of observation.
  • Read, hear, and compare the resurrection accounts from each of the Gospels.
  • Think about how to tell others about the events of Easter morning.

The Games and Puzzles Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 by having children play biblically related games or puzzles. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Find Matthew 28:1–10 in their Bibles.
  • Discuss the story of the women witnessing to the resurrection.
  • Play a game related to the events of the first Easter morning.

The Music and Worship Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 through music and makes the connection to worship in PC(USA) congregations. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about Easter hymns.
  • Experience the Easter story as participants.
  • Learn how the resurrection story links to PC(USA) liturgical practices.

The Bonus: Cooking Workshop explores Matthew 28:1–10 through cooking. Objectives of the workshop:

The children will have the opportunity to:

  • Make spice cookies.
  • Hear the story of Jesus’ resurrection.
  • Smell, touch, taste and learn about a variety of spices that were used in biblical times and today.
