how the Bible flows from book to book. Each section is followed
by a review. As each section is completed, bookmarks are presented
to participants for them to keep and use for their own personal
Bible study. The seven units are titled:

Unit 1: The Torah
This unit introduces the students to the Torah, the first five
books of the Old Testament. These five books are the foundation
of Hebrew faith. They recount God's work to create a world,
a people and a nation. The Torah ends with the book of Deuteronomy,
which retells the exodus story and gives instruction for life
as God's covenant people.

Unit 2: Hebrew
History
This unit focuses on the history of Israel from the people's
entry into the Promised Lane in Joshua through the rise of Israel
as a nation, its division into two kingdoms and fall to the
Babylonian empire. The unit also focuses on the stories of Ruth
and Job. While neither book is a part of Hebrew history, the
stories reflect the connection of history to God the creator
and redeemer. |

Unit 3: Hebrew
Wisdom
This unit is on the special writing known as wisdom literature.
Wisdom literature guides us in life and in faith. The Psalms
are the writer's way to express his feelings about and toward
God. Proverbs and Ecclesiastes give practical advice on how
to live a good life. Song of Solomon reflects the meaning and
role of love in life. Life is always seen as a gift from God.

Unit 4: Prophets
This unit is on the prophets in Israel's past. Special attention

review game. |

and stories about Jesus' unique to that gospel. |

Unit 6: The Early
Church
This unit focuses on the beginnings of the church and its history

Unit 7: Letters
to the Early Church
This unit introduces the students to the epistles (letters)
to the early churches and people. The unit looks primarily at
Paul's letters and includes "one word" reminders of
what each letter is about. The unit also includes a session
on the other letters found in the New Testament, and a session
on John's Revelation and apocalyptic writing s in Scripture.
The unit concludes with a review session for the whole course,
and optional sessions for Christmas and Easter. |
