Things to Make and Do
Anytime: Creative Activities for Children's Ministry
In the church calendar, we celebrate two special seasons, from
Advent through the Day of Epiphany and from Lent through the
Day of Pentecost. But much of the year is called ordinary time,
time in which every Sunday we celebrate the resurrection and
the coming of the new creation. The word ordinary has a rather
commonplace connotation. It is normal rather than special. But
in the life of faith it is often in the ordinary that the extraordinary
is encountered. Activities in Things to Make and Do Anytime
are grounded in the ordinary. They offer children a way to take
time from their busy schedules of school, music lessons and
sports to deeply experience God.
