Mission Personnel
Rev. Kathleen Griffin
— Professor of Church History
Katie Griffin, an ordained PC(USA) minister, has served since 1998 in the area of theological education in Buenos Aires. She teaches at ISEDET (Instituto Superior Evangélico de Estudios Teológicos—Instituto Universitario), a university-level Protestant institute. ISEDET is one of the top Protestant institutes for theological education in Latin America. Amid shortages, fuel rations, and other challenges, Katie reflects on her role as a fully funded missionary on the faculty: “This is one of the gifts that the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has made to the University Institute where I am teaching. It is a way in which many of you are able to share the reign of God and God’s justice with millions of church members in Latin America.” |

This region includes Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. The regional liaison also visits Presbyterian theological institutions and gatherings of Latin American seminaries, and assists International Mission in Partnership in developing and implementing a theological education strategy with the PC(USA)'s partners in the region. |
