Argentina Programs and Projects
Hunger
In 2008 the Presbyterian Hunger Program made the following grant:
Church World Service — $45,000
Support and Accompaniment to Indigenous Peoples of South America’s Chaco Region
The goal of this program is to strengthen the capacity of 250 communities in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay to promote their rights, recover their lands, and to live free from hunger and oppression.
Self-Development
For the next three years (beginning in 2007) Self-Development of People is engaging in a new strategy for entering into partnership with communities of economically poor, oppressed and disadvantaged people outside of the United States. The program will establish (and/or continue) partnerships with six intermediaries, one of them the Ecumenical Coordination of Service (C.E.S.E) in Argentina. In partnership with Self-Development of People, this organization allocates resources throughout Argentina, providing small grants to poverty groups. |
