Give to Mission Personnel in Central Asia

The countries in this region declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. The people of the region adhere predominantly to the Muslim faith with the exception of Kazakhstan, which is closely divided between Muslim and Russian Orthodox adherents. With the needs of the region centered in the development of new and stronger economic and social service infrastructure, the mission workers in this region work primarily in the areas of education, health care, community development, ministry to at-risk children and other fields. Currently nine Presbyterian mission personnel or specialists work in this region.
