Hunger
In 2008 the Presbyterian Hunger Program made the following grants:
UMAVIDA — $45,000
Uniendo Manos por la Vida
Support for network operations, training and campaign on water resources.
UMAVIDA (for 2009 work) — $20,000
Water is More Valuable than Gold
The focus of the campaign is to generate mechanisms and public policies that avoid the massive consumption and contamination of clean water by mining operations.
Fundación Amanecer — $7,000
Nourishment and Education in Nutrition, Meal Preparation and Baking
Preparation for Life Feeding program for street children in Cochabamba.
Church World Service — $45,000
Support and Accompaniment to Indigenous Peoples of South America’s Chaco Region
The goal of this program is to strengthen the capacity of 250 communities in Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay to promote their rights, recover their lands and to live free from hunger and oppression. |
