Hunger
In 2006 the Presbyterian Hunger Program made the following grants:
Joining Hands Against Hunger (JHAH ) – UMAVIDA — $55,000
JHAH - Uniendo Manos por la Vida: Core and Strategic Program
Education and advocacy program focused on marginalized populations and environmental justice.
Fundacion AMANECER — Centro Yaykuna — $7,000
Nourishment and Education in Nutrition, Meal Preparation and Baking
Assisting 600 street children and young adults with meals and limited vocational skills training.
Fundacion AMANECER —Madre de Dios — $8,000
Nourishment for Life in Bolivia
Program to assist street children in the city of Cochabamba with food, shelter and basic education.
Iglesia Presbiteriana Independiente en Bolivia — $16,000
Microcredito Para Personas Desocupadas
Supporting small enterprise development among poor members of the local church.
And through Church World Service:
Fundapaz Consortium – CWS — $50,000
Support and Accompaniment to Indigenous Peoples of South America’s Chaco RegionLand reclamation, capacity building for advocacy, food security and organizing of indigenous populations in the Chaco region of Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina. |
