Mission: |
The seminary helps students
develop creative and relevant theologies for their own context.
It also equips men and women for various services in the life of
the nation and the church by teaching theology in a fully Indian
way. Although the tradition has been to start with theological doctrines
(usually formulated in the West) and then apply them to issues in
church and society, Satyaniketan lets students and staff take life-issues
as the starting point of their search together for a Christian theology
in the Indian context. Worship makes use of Indian music, liturgy
and art forms and is central to the life of the seminary. |
