Extra Commitment Opportunities

There is a channel through which gifts can be designated for specific items that support the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s work around the world. These are called Extra Commitment Opportunities (ECOs). You can give directly to an ECO account online or by mailing your check designating the name and account number of the particular item you have chosen to:

Christian Commission on Development (CCD)

The CCD, an organization made up of Honduran churches working in over 100 communities in six regions of Honduras, assists in small animal production and agriculture, health, small industry, leadership and community development, literacy, and pastoral and theological training.

Honduras — Training

Gifts to this ECO will be used to defray the direct and indirect costs of travel and operating expenses for the work of the facilitators for leadership and theological training and promoting congregational self-sufficiency in the Honduran Presbyterian Church and in facilitating the activities of the PC(USA) Honduras Mission Network.

Mission Personnel

Tim and Gloria Wheeler — Community Development/Delegation and Mission Education Coordination

Tim and Gloria Wheeler work with Heifer International. Tim has overall responsibility for the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Heifer programs in Honduras. He also facilitates training and evaluation workshops in other Central American countries. Gloria coordinates study tours and mission team visits from the United States. Heifer Project brings hope to families through the possibility of raising their own animals and receiving benefits from them. Tim and Gloria have lived and worked in Honduras in various capacities for almost 30 years.

The Mark and Ashley Wright — Congregational Development/Partnership Facilitators

The Presbyterian Church in Honduras consists of 18 Presbyterian churches. These churches are located in a 60-mile radius of the capital city Tegucigalpa. Money contributed to this account will help to send and support mission workers to facilitate the coordination of partnership relationships between the Presbyterian Church in Honduras and PC(USA) entities. They will also play a role in helping build the capacity of the local church leaders to manage partnership relationships, joint projects and visit coordination. The Rev. Mark and Ashley Wright are currently serving in this ministry.

Presbyterian Church of Honduras

The Presbyterian Church of Honduras is a small church in Honduras with which PC(USA) is forming a new partnership. Funds from this ECO will be used for Christian education, evangelism, development and general programming.
