Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga

Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) was established by nine Indonesian church synods as a teacher-training college in 1956. By 1959 the college had developed into a university, and it has since expanded to include two postgraduate programs. Satya Wacana (which means "Faithful to the Word") Christian University is a scientific and educational community of teachers and students dedicated to service and to preparing Indonesian youth for leadership in church, society and nation.

             
 
 

Theological Faculty of Duta Wacana Christian University, Yogyakarta

The Theological Faculty was founded in 1962 by the Duta Wacana Foundation for Higher Education. The institution has some 350 students and offers both the Bachelor of Divinity degree (four years) and the Master of Theology degree (two years).

Minangkabau

The tremendous social and political upheaval in Indonesia and East Timor have put tremendous pressures on Christians seeking to be faithful in this radical Muslim context. For many years a dedicated Presbyterian couple has been at work taking the love of Christ through word and deed to the Minangkabau people.
