Youth Ministry In Japan
The last time the youth desk had a role in the Kyodan was 35 years age. Now, youth ministry has become vitally important in the life of the church in Japan. Funds from a PC(USA) ECO account will help train youth ministry workers and provide challenging opportunities in youth ministry for both the Kyodan and Korean Christian churches in Japan. |

Yodogawa Christian Hospital, Osaka, Japan
At the end of the World War II Japan was a devastated country, and the city of Osaka was in shambles. In response to a need for medical assistance, a survey was made and as a result a healing ministry became a major function of the Presbyterian Mission in Japan. In 1956 Yodogawa Christian Hospital (YCH) was established in a needy area of Osaka. Through the years the hospital has grown in medical expertise and technology. It is now a 600-bed non-profit institution staffed by Japanese doctors and nurses. YCH is renowned for its excellent medical care—especially for mothers, babies and children. This hospital contributes to the Christian health ministries of other Asian countries by sending staff members occasionally to work and teach there. |
