Northern Ireland Programs and Projects

Much of PCUSA involvement in Northern Ireland / Ireland happens through the presence of the Rev. Doug and Elaine Baker.  Doug is the PC(USA) Regional Liaison for Ireland and the United Kingdom.  One of his major roles is serving as a consultant / trainer / facilitator for the Irish churches at both denominational and local levels, as they develop their own capacity for peace-building. Doug also is the site coordinator for the PC(USA)'s Young Adult Volunteer program in Northern Ireland. Learn more.

Northern Ireland Young Adult Volunteer Program

Young adult volunteers (YAVs) serving in the United Kingdom experience a year of developing Christian community through spiritual formation and volunteer service. Serving at several sites across the United Kingdom, YAVs live together in Christian community and serve neighborhood ministries. Gifts to this ECO will be used for programmatic site support or to directly support young adult volunteers through reimbursement of outstanding students loans, housing and food allowances and/or a travel subsidy.
