Mission Personnel

Jacob Goad — Delegations and Partnership Coordinator, Peru

Jacob Goad serves as delegation coordinator at the invitation of the Evangelical Presbyterian and Reformed Church of Peru. “When I worked with a human rights organization in Moyobamba, Peru,” writes Jacob, “I saw that the best way to build a partnership with the church in Peru was to work with short-term mission teams. As delegations coordinator, I plan to emphasize mutuality. Each church has important gifts to share with the other. I want to see both churches sharing a unified vision in Christ’s service.” Jacob’s work includes a myriad of responsibilities that enable successful trips: logistics, planning, accompaniment, itineration set-up, translations, and all back-and-forth communication.

Harry, an ordained PC(USA) minister, teaches Bible and biblical language courses. In describing the students at UBL, he writes, “They have a deep concern for the largely poor communities in which they serve. They share a hunger for a space where followers of Jesus Christ can have theological dialogue that is open to these concerns and seeks answers in the Bible. I am grateful to be allowed to participate.”
