Education

Apayao Community Learning Center

In 1948 Apayao Christian Academy was founded to serve a group of marginalized people. This was made possible through the initiative, support and faith of the American Protestant missionaries who saw the great need to establish an educational system. In 1984 the name was changed to Apayao Community Learning Center (ACLC) to include the need of the community for an expanded program in a formal and non-formal setting.

Northern Christian College, Laoag City

Northern Christian College is a post-secondary educational institution. Baccalaureate programs are offered in the fields of Liberal Arts, Ministry, Nursing, Teacher Education, Accounting, and Commerce-Secretarial. The school also offers a Master's degree program in Education. There are 80 members on the faculty, and student enrollment is approximately 2000.

Philippine Christian University, Manila

Philippine Christian University is a post-secondary educational institution. The University is divided into the Colleges of Education, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Nursing, Agriculture, Social Work, Computer Science, and Secretarial Science. In addition to baccalaureate programs, the University offers a Master's degree in Liberal Arts, Business Administration, and Management. A Doctor of Ministry program is also offered. The University has an enrollment of approximately 16,000 and 549 members on the faculty.

Union Christian College, San Fernando

Union Christian College was founded as Otterbein Girls School in 1910. It became Union Christian College (UCC) in 1960. UCC is a secondary and post-secondary educational institution. It “seeks a life of faith, learning and action that shall develop people into becoming intellectually competent and honest, morally and ethically sensitive, creatively aware and responsive to the needs, aspirations and realizations of a just, free and responsible social order.”

             
 
 

Health

Bethany Hospital, Tacloban City, Leyte

Bethany Hospital was founded by the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions and has been in existence for more than 50 years as a teaching and training hospital. During World War II the hospital changed hands many times. In 1948 the government released it to become a church-related hospital again. The 125-bed hospital is well equipped with a national staff of approximately 175 and has facilities for modern patient care.
