Republic
of Korea (South Korea)
While most Koreans are followers of Buddhism or a traditional
religion, the country’s Christian faith goes back 220
years, to the beginning of the Catholic mission in Korea. The
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) itself celebrates over a century
of ministry in Korea The PC(USA) involvement in Korea is through
the Presbyterian Church of Korea,
the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea, and the
National Council of Churches in Korea.
The PC(USA) works in this northeast Asia nation through mission
personnel
and our partner church relationships. The PC(USA) joins Korea's
Christian community in a ministry that includes new church development,
higher education and youth ministries, theological education,
health ministries, women's and children's ministries, food aid,
and peace education, reconciliation and reunification work. |
