Extra Commitment Opportunities

There is a channel through which gifts can be designated for specific items that support the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)'s work around the world. These are called Extra Commitment Opportunities (ECOs). You can give directly to an ECO account online or by mailing your check designating the name and account number of the particular item you have chosen to:

Your gift will go directly into the ECO Account designated, and you will receive a letter indicating that your gift has been received and will be used for the purpose intended.

Mission Personnel

Tom Arthur, an ordained PC(USA) minister, has been serving with the PC(USA)’s partner church, the United Reformed Church, in the United Kingdom for more than a decade. He is pastor of the City United Reformed Church, a “hub of ecumenical activity” in the center of Cardiff, the capital of Wales. Prior to the call to City Church he served a pastorate in Birmingham, England.

Doug, an ordained PC(USA) minister, and Elaine Baker have been PC(USA) mission workers for more than two decades. Although their roles have changed over the years of their ministry in Northern Ireland, their ministry has always served the cause of peacemaking and reconciliation. Doug is now the PC(USA)’s regional liaison for Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Young Adults

YAV Time for God

Young adult volunteers (YAVs) serving in the Time for God program in the United Kingdom experience a year of developing Christian community through spiritual formation and volunteer service. Serving at several sites across the United Kingdom, young adult volunteers live together in Christian community and serve neighborhood ministries. Gifts to this ECO will be used for programmatic site support or to directly support young adult volunteers through reimbursement of outstanding students loans, housing and food allowances and/or a travel subsidy.
