Health

Mwandi Hospital
Mwandi Hospital, more than 50 miles from Livingstone, on the banks of the Zambezi River, is operated by the United Church of Zambia. The surrounding villages are isolated and sanitation and nutritional problems affect many. The incidence of AIDS is only one more problem affecting this large community. An electrification project has provided the hospital and village with 24-hour power and allowed the hospital to upgrade to electrical equipment, and the PC(USA) has assisted with the construction of a surgical suite and an outpatient clinic.
