About this blog

Brian Frick is the Associate for Camp and Conferences Ministries with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He has been involved in camp and conference ministry since high school. For the past ten years, Brian has served as program director of Johnsonburg Center in New Jersey, Westminster Woods in California, and Heartland Center in Missouri.

Camp and conference ministry compliments and partners with other ministry aspects of our church to foster faith development and reflection. As our communities and our church changes, our ministries need to grow and adapt with creative and emergent programming and leadership to meet new realities.

These blogs entries, though varied, are intended to spur thought and conversation around the opportunities and challenges before us.

Triennium is here in a BIG WAY!

As of the last update I received last week we were above 4,700 youth coming to Triennium and growing!  With a prediction of 3,000 that is fantastic news!  Our youth are engaged and desiring to meet together with other Presbyterians.

I will be there representing the PCUSA Camp and Conference centers and we have a fun booth set up with video area, picture area, campfire, guitar, tent and other things.  Hope to be able to capture the excitement youth have for camping as well as show them a fun time!  Lauren Mathews of Montreat will be there as well so we are going to have a blast.

My question to you all is - what can we be doing to support youth and youth ministry for Presbyterians?  How can we be tools of outreach and evangelism for this age group?  What are we doing to equip youth and young adults?  How are we letting people know that?

But most importantly, what can I be doing/sharing at Triennium that will make a difference both for our centers and for the youth attending Triennium?

It starts next Monday and goes throughout the week.  I will be checking the blog and hope to be able to provide updates.
